About the Program
Knitting in America is enjoying a renaissance from celebrities to artists. Lisa Anne Auerbach is a leader in this movement. Join Lisa Anne for five days exploring the history of knitting as clothing and art, while also learning the basics of the craft. Participants learn fundamental knitting skills, including garter stitch, stockinette stitch, decreases, increases, gauge and pattern reading. You return home with new skills and a new way of using knitting as not only an art form, but as a tool for communication. Yarn and needles are provided. All levels welcome.

Bio
Lisa Anne Auerbach is in her second decade of radical knitting. With an MFA in Fine Art, Lisa Anne has spent her adult life harnessing the creative and revolutionary power of the knitting needle. She has exhibited her work around the world in solo and group shows, and much of which focuses on social and political movements. Her latest project was knitting a 10-foot-tall yurt for V-Day, the tenth anniversary of the Vagina Monologues.
