Buy NowA Rich Legacy of Talented Local Artists
Located next to the Mercantile, the Cavallo Point Art Gallery showcases engaging photography and seasonal exhibits by talented local artists — continuing the rich century-old legacy of Sausalito as an artists’ community.
Spencer Aldworth Brown’s fine art photography has garnered critical acclaim with many curated shows around the Bay Area. His High Water Line series, displayed here at Cavallo Point, features photographs taken as he floated San Francisco’s coastline in a wetsuit with a waterproof film camera. He has shot in the same style in both Manhattan and Miami.
Mr. Brown got his start working in photo labs, where he printed and developed film for Jim Marshall, Art Wolfe, Mona Kuhn, and Galen Rowell, before moving on to the San Francisco Business Times from 2004-2015. In 2016, he completed Sunset, SF, stylized scenes void of people, trees and cars in San Francisco’s largest neighborhood. In 2019, he was recognized as one of the best fashion photographers in San Francisco for his freelance work for the Nob Hill Gazette.
He is an active member and volunteer at ArtSpan, the Bay Area’s premier arts organization and his editorial work continues to be published in a wide variety of media. He balances time between assignments and hikes in the Sierra Nevada with his wife Stephanie and their dog Finca.
